These dramatic improvisational techniques are a constructive means in which to confront problems that would otherwise remain below the surface. By acting out issues and then watching the storylines played back on TV, teens make significant strides toward understanding themselves and each other. Issues such as race, drugs, pregnancy and family turmoil are dealt with in a manner that turns negative emotion into a positive liberating experience.

Rob Hecimovich is the director of Nia Productions and Any and All Video. He produces several TV programs including Club TNT and Teen Talk.
